A horseshoe is a fabricated product, normally made of metal, although sometimes made partially or wholly of modern synthetic materials, designed to protect a horse hoof from wear. Shoes are attached on the palmar surface (ground side) of the hooves, usually nailed through the insensitive hoof wall that is anatomically akin to the human toenail, although much larger and thicker. However, there are also cases where shoes are glued. When kept as a talisman, a horseshoe is said to bring good luck.
The Pentru Costin Museum has an impressive collection of hats, berets and uniforms from various customs and law enforcement institutions around the world, totaling more than 1,200 copies.
"I keep history in objects. I have collections of all things possible and impossible. I am fascinated by history, old objects"
