In the very heart of the Moldovan Codru, 30 km from the capital, in the Ulma village, in a picturesque forest glade sits “Vinăria Poiana”.
The main goal of the Poiana winery is to use all of the natural resources the Codru forest zone has to offer. This is why, together with the village councils of Ulma and Horodka, a zone called “Eco Areal” was created. Within this zone grape varieties are grown with old technologies and without the use of herbicides and pesticides.
Vinăria Poiana is a relatively small establishment that produces 20 000 bottles per year. However, it is already famous outside its home country. The company has received multiple international awards and is exported to EU countries, as well as China and countries nearby.
